Restaurant tipping customs vary by country, but in the United States a post-meal calculation remains routine: multiply bill subtotal by a tip percentage, optionally split among diners, and confirm the card total before signing. Mental math under social pressure produces errors — especially after tax-inclusive totals, shared appetizers, and uneven splits. Certoflow's Tip Calculator accepts bill amount, tip rate, and party size, then shows tip dollars, grand total, and per-person share instantly.

Everything runs locally in your browser. Bill amounts are not sent to Certoflow servers. Quick preset buttons (10%, 15%, 18%, 20%, 25%) speed common US scenarios. Light and dark themes keep the interface readable in dim restaurants when brightness courtesy matters.

How it works

tip = bill × (percent / 100)
total = bill + tip
perPerson = total / people

Validation rejects non-positive bills and split counts below one. Results format to two decimal places for currency display.

Presets update the percentage field without recalculating until you click Calculate — or you can add live recalc; current design uses explicit calculate button matching other education tools.
